Lime

The sapwood of Lime is usually quite large and creamy white in color, merging into the heartwood, which is pale to reddish brown, sometimes with darker streaks. The wood has a fine uniform texture and indistinct grain that is straight.

Lime is a light colored wood that is known for its carving and turning attributes. It is very easy to work with and can be used as a substitute for Basswood.

Working Properties

Works well with sharp machine or hand tools and is excellent for carving (soft and resists splitting). Glues, screws, nails, stains, and finishes beautifully.

Durability

It has low durability towards termites, decay, extreme weather conditions.
